About the Program

The health professions require a combination of practical and interpersonal skills for nurses, doctors, and other health professionals to be successful. What better way to develop these skills than in a summer abroad that offers relevant coursework and lab opportunities, in combination with intercultural learning?
 
About Coleraine

Coleraine is a large town near the mouth of the River Bann in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. A charming town center within easy walking distance to campus. Beaches, dunes, dramatic cliffs and woodlands are all nearby as well as a railway stop that makes traveling to Derry or Belfast easy and convinient. 
 
Program Benefits
 
  • Instruction provided by regular Ulster University biomedical sciences faculty at one of the U.K.'s top biomedical research centers
  • Field and laboratory experiences are a key part of the program and include a visit to medical microbiology laboratories and practical laboratory work
  • Students live in single bedrooms, most with a private bathroom

Scholarships

IFSA scholarships are primarily need-based and factor in any additional cost your study abroad program might have over home school tuition. The awards are $500 for summer programs, $1,500 for semester programs and $2,500 for full year programs. These scholarships may apply to any IFSA program, with the exception of our custom programs.
