Program Information:

Live life to the fullest this summer in the vibrant, cosmopolitan setting of Buenos Aires. The bustling capital of Argentina has European influences, creating a unique Latin American flavor. Here, you can study Spanish in the classroom and beyond. Buenos Aires is your destination if you want to get a taste of Latin America or improve your language skills. Courses will introduce you to Latin American history, culture, and geography. Expert staff members help you transition to life in this unforgettable city, and you’ll have your pick of exciting cultural activities. Summer in Argentina allows you to study abroad when it fits your schedule.

Get excited about:
  • An internationally focused university
  • A semester's worth of Spanish-language credit
  • Strong on-site support from CISabroad staff
  • Fun, centrally located homestays or apartments with local Argentines
  • Excursions to popular locations such as Tigre and Rosario & Feria de Mataderos
  • Spanish-language courses for all levels
Location:
Buenos Aires is the second largest city in Latin America with 14 million people. Visitors call it the “Paris of the South” because it resembles a European city. Here, you'll find tree-lined streets, cafes on every corner, and fantastic shopping. You'll dance the tango and drink yerba mate in this cosmopolitan metropolis that never seems to sleep.

Porteños will love showing you their lifestyle and helping you learn Spanish in their unique accented speech. For a once-in-a-lifetime experience, ask a new friend to bring you to the Superclásico. This is a fútbol match between local rivals Boca Juniors and River Plate. City-wide support is split between the two teams, which means fans get very passionate!  Buenos Aires’ fun, vibrant environment is full of activities. You can shop and stroll on Calle Florida or at Plaza Francia. Visit the free Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, the center of Argentine art. Relax or study in the postcard-perfect Plaza de Mayo or walk the cobblestone streets of San Telmo. Finally, you can fall in love with Palermo’s parks.

As a CISabroad summer or semester student in Buenos Aires, you'll be based in Belgrano. The largely residential neighborhood offers tree-lined avenues and tranquil parks. As a result, many upper-class Argentines and expatriates call this area home. Palermo, the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, sits between Belgrano and the official downtown area. Therefore, you'll have easy access to everything from sports stadiums to a planetarium, botanical gardens, and parks. Many of the areas within Palermo are considered to be trend setters in Argentinian fashion and art, so prepare to be wowed.
